The NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) Limited is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
It is India's largest Iron ore producer with an annual production of about 30 million tons of Iron ore from 3 fully mechanized mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.

NMDC at present producesabout 21-22 MT of Iron ore from its Bailadila sector mines and 9 MT from Donimalai sector mines.
Out of 30 MnT production, around 10% of ore is exported to Japan and Korea under long term agreement. Exports are conducted through MMTC.
Major customers are RINL, Essar Steel, Welspun, JSW Steels, KIOCL, Chhattisgarh based sponge units & Vikram Ispat.
