Technology leader Tenova has received a new contract for the supply of a decarburisation and coating line (DCL) from VIZ-Stal, belonging to Russia's NLMK Group, for its plant in Ekaterinburg in Russia. The contract was awarded through Tenova LOI Thermprocess, a leading presence in industrial furnace plants worldwide.
Due to the strong co-operation between Tenova's competence centres for heat treatment furnaces and strip processing, Tenova LOI Thermprocess and Tenova Italimpianti will provide one of the important stages of grain-oriented electrical strip production.
Steel final processing will be carried out at a newly-built plant located in India.
Expertise in silicon lines
The contract includes the engineering, supply and supervision services of the mechanical and process equipment, the heat treatment portion (furnace system) as well as the related electrical measuring and control systems for a DCL.
With this new contract, Tenova further consolidates its leading market share in silicon lines, with more than 180 references worldwide in the last 20 years.
Peter Wendt, Vice President of Tenova LOI Thermprocess told SteelMint: "The NLMK Group has given us more than 10 orders over the past 15 years. The new DCL Line will ensure the highest surface and best magnetic properties required by the market."
The DCL is scheduled to start production by the end of 2021.
