India: Recovery in demand lifts Bellary sponge iron prices

Sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%) prices in Karnataka's Bellary were up INR 200/t, while sponge P-DRI prices jumped INR 150/t in today's trade. Over 6,500 t of deals were recorded by SteelMint at revised prices.

  • About 2,800 t of C-DRI deals were reported at INR 29,600-29,800/t as against offers at INR 29,800-30,000/t ($400) exw-Bellary.
  • Another 3,900 t of P-DRI deals were heard at INR 28,800-29,000/t, while offers hovered at INR 29,000-29,200/t exw. Most of the deals concluded were for Hyderabad and Hindupur.
