USA: Pig iron imports fall 20%, y-o-y, in Jan-May'22

• The USA's pig iron imports rose sharply by 217.80% m-o-m in May'22 to 0.30 mnt from 0.09 mnt in Apr, as per customs data.
• Brazil and India were the largest exporters at 0.12 mnt each, followed by Russia at 0.05 mnt.
• However, import volumes fell by 20% to 1.87 mnt on year in Jan-May'22 as against 2.35 mnt in the year-ago period.
