Steel production in Vietnam has declined by 6.48% m-o-m to 2.39 mn t in Jul'21, as per Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) data. Steel sales across all categories touched 2.10 mn t, largely stable against last month. The downfall in sales resulted from the spread of a Covid-19 variant and subsequent imposition of social distancing norms, even at factory sites, that kept demand subdued. Moreover, most cases were reported from the capital Ho Chi Minh City, a steel hub.
