India: Raipur mill scale prices increase by INR 150/t

Domestic mill scale prices have inched up slightly in Raipur, as per latest reports.

  • SteelMint’s assessment for mill scale (Fe 70/68%) stands at INR 8,200/t exw Raipur, higher by INR 150/t on week.
  • Trade sources confirmed a deal for 1,500 t of mill scale at INR 8,200-8,300/t exw Raipur.
  • Prices in Kandla are stable. The current assessment for Fe 70/68% material stands at INR 9,300-9,500/t DAP Kandla.
 

India: Kandla mill scale prices inch up on tight supply

Domestic mill scale prices in Kandla kept rallying this week on tight material availability, SteelMint learnt from sources. For exports, price realisations further increased to around INR 10,500-10,700/t on FoB basis.

  • Domestic mill scale is assessed at INR 9,300-9,500/t DAP Kandla, higher by INR 800/t on week.
  • Prices in Raipur are stable. The current assessment for Fe 70/68% grade stands at INR 8,000-8,100/t exw.
 

India: Kandla mill scale prices rise on active export enquiries

Domestic mill scale prices in Kandla rallied by INR 500-700/t this week on active export enquiries, SteelMint learnt from sources. Market participants are holding offers firm in the domestic market. However, for exports, price realisations are at around INR 10,200-10,300/t on FoB basis. As per latest reports:

  • Domestic mill scale is assessed at INR 8,500-8,600/t DAP Kandla, higher by INR 600/t on week.
  • The current assessment for Fe 70/68% grade material stands at INR 8,000-8,100/t exw Raipur, up by INR 50/t w-o-w.
  • A deal for around 1,500 t has been heard in the range of INR 8,100-8,300/t exw Raipur.
 

India: Domestic mill scale prices move up in recent deals

Domestic mill scale prices in India have increased this week by up to INR 400/t w-o-w, tracking a hike in iron ore prices.

  • The current assessment for mill scale (Fe 70/68%) stands at INR 8,000-8,200/t, exw Raipur. Confirmed deals of 2,700 t of mill scale were recorded by SteelMint at INR 8,100-8,150/t, exw-Raipur.
  • The current assessment for the domestic mill scale stands at INR 7,400-7,600/t, DAP Kandla. A recent deal reported for 1,200 t material was heard concluded at INR 7,400/t, DAP Kandla.
 

India: Domestic mill scale prices rise by INR 300-400/t

Domestic mill scale prices have increased this week by up to INR 300-400/t w-o-w, as per latest reports. SteelMint’s assessment for mill scale (Fe 70/68%) stands at INR 7,900-8,000/t, exw Raipur, and INR 7,000-7,200/t, DAP Kandla. Trade sources have confirmed that a central India-based private mill has concluded mill scale deals at around INR 7,950/t, exw Raipur, recently.

 

India: Tata Steel Long Products conclude 500 t mill scale auction

Tata Steel Long Products Ltd had scheduled an auction today for 500 t mill scale (with moisture and oil content) from its Gamharia plant in Jharkhand. Buyers booked the entire quantity at INR 9,600/t, exw. Mill scale prices in Raipur have increased by INR 300-400/t against prices prevailing at the end of last week, sources told SteelMint. Offers for Fe 70/68% mill scale are heard at INR 7,850-8,000/t, exw Raipur.

 

India: Tata Steel Long Products to auction mill scale from Jharkhand

Tata Steel Long Products Ltd has scheduled an auction for sale of 500 t mill scale (with moisture and oil content) from its plant at Seraikela-Kharsawan district in Jharkhand. The auction, due on 10 Jun’21, will be an Yankee type auction, SteelMint learnt from sources. Domestic mill scale prices have increased last week by up to INR 200-300/t w-o-w. SteelMint’s assessment for mill scale (Fe 70/68%) stood at INR 7,600-7,700/t, exw Raipur, on 5 Jun.
