India's State-wise Iron Ore Production in FY22 (till Aug)

Odisha, the largest iron ore producing state of India, produced 63.5 mn t of iron ore in the first 5 months of FY22. Whereas, in FY21, Odisha produced 107.1 mn t. In the first 5 months of FY22, Chhattisgarh, the second-largest iron ore producing state, produced 14.2 mn t of iron ore in the first 5 months of FY22. In FY21, Chhattisgarh produced 37.2 mn t. Karnataka and Jharkhand are the third and fourth-largest iron ore-producing states. Karnataka produced 16.6 mn t and Jharkhand produced 8.6 mn t in the first 5 months of FY22.
India's iron ore production decreased by around 17% y-o-y in FY21 to 204 mn t from 246 mn t in FY20.
